Our mission at Healing Waters International is to end the global water crisis; it’s why we exist. The Healing Waters team keeps our mission at the forefront so we can stay on track. It is the heart of all we do, and the decisions we make as an organization are filtered through it.

Fulfilling the Mission of Healing Waters

A mission can’t be complete without a plan for it to come to fruition, so through an abundance of prayer, Healing Waters has strategically created a plan to fulfill our mission. A mission that begins with partnering with others, like you, who also want to help ease human suffering caused by lack of safe water.

We can’t only provide water, but we must create holistic solutions that provide affordable, clean, and accessible water that is sustainable by the community. To accomplish that, our mission to end the global water crisis includes four major components:

1. Building custom-designed clean water solutions

Every community is provided with a water system that produces safe water, an integrated bottle sanitizing station, so that safe water isn’t contaminated in dirty bottles, and is sustainable.

However, custom-designed systems are necessary because each community has unique needs. For example, systems are configured to work with the available power source, whether it be solar, grid, or even gravity alone.

2. Training in maintenance and water-business operations

We can’t end the global water crisis if we provide water systems without training local operators to maintain the equipment and operate a small water business, because it wouldn’t be sustainable if we didn’t. So our staff ensures that leaders in each community not only receive the initial training but also receive ongoing support through our local leaders who visit in person, help them troubleshoot, and provide quarterly monitoring.

3. Health and hygiene education

Knowledge is empowering, so part of the strategy to end the global water crisis is to teach communities about health and hygiene. We equip each community’s women and children about health and hygiene since they are primarily responsible for water collection. We also teach our local health & hygiene trainers how to keep everyone safe by educating them about preventing the spread of germs and how water becomes contaminated.

For women, we incorporate our “Clothed in Strength and Dignity Curriculum” to solidify their value and identity. Not only does it benefit them personally, but it can have a tremendous influence on their families and communities, as they share what they have learned.

Our Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Curriculum is designed for the children in the communities we serve.  Children learn how they can remain healthy through fun, interactive, and practical lessons that teach them about:

  • Drinking safe water
  • How germs make people sick
  • Handwashing
  • Personal hygiene
  • Nutrition
  • Keeping their environment clean
