Site Inauguration: Dominican Republic

Stories of site inaugurations are some of our favorites. In partnership with Food for the Hungry, one of our latest site inaugurations occurred at Cristo Redentor, a community in the Dominican Republic where cholera has recently run rampant.

As our headquarters staff took in the story of Cristo Redentor, we were reminded just how crucial access to clean water is in the Dominican and Haiti after Hurricane Matthew. Entire communities are not only lacking drinking water, but the water that it takes to wash hands, brush teeth, and clean wounds. Without clean water, infections that would otherwise be minor have the chance to turn into life threatening illnesses and that is why we are asking you to back our mission.

When you become a #25for25 donor, after one year you will have helped provide 25 people access to clean water through donating $25 a month. Clean water is not only a necessity for consumption, it is a necessity for health and sanitation! Want to learn more about how you can be involved in big ways? Head over to our Ask Why page.
