In the steep, coffee-growing highlands of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, two communities- El Pajal and Cipresales are on the brink of something life-changing. For generations, families here have lived without the most basic necessity: safe water. Healing Waters International (HWI) is on a mission to change that. And we’re inviting YOU to be part of the transformation.

No Water, No Way Forward

Imagine this: your child misses school again because they’re too sick from drinking contaminated water. You can’t wash your clothes, cook safely, or even take a clean shower. This is daily life for over 2,500 people in these Indigenous, coffee-growing villages. It’s not just inconvenient- it’s a public health crisis, a dignity crisis, and a barrier to opportunity.

But there’s hope—and it’s flowing in.

Water That Flows with Dignity

Healing Waters knows that safe water at the source isn’t enough. People need clean water at home to cook, to clean, to bathe, and to live with dignity. That’s why we’re building a piped water system that delivers safe, abundant water directly to household taps. Not buckets. Not barrels. Not every two weeks. Every day. Every home.

This isn’t a band-aid. It’s the long-term infrastructure that’s sustainable, solar-powered, and designed to last for decades. We’re talking:

  • 270+ new household taps
  • Solar-powered pumping systems that climb 900 meters of rugged terrain
  • Ultrafiltration and nanofiltration tech that makes water safer than ever
  • Community-led operations that empower locals to run the system themselves

Why It Works

When water comes right to your house, adoption rates skyrocket. Health improves. Kids stay in school. Families get back to work. And dignity is restored.

And it’s already happening.

Phase 1 of the project wrapped up last year, bringing safe water to 900 people in El Pajal. Now, we’re launching Phase 2, serving 2,500+ people who’ve waited far too long. This is more than just a water project. It’s a message: You are not forgotten.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve seen so much suffering because we don’t have water that we can drink.”
Doña Vicki

Where you come in

We’re inviting individuals, churches, donors, and partners to stand with the people of El Pajal and Cipresales. Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate to help us build household taps, solar-powered pumps, and purification systems.
  • Share this story—because awareness is power.
  • Pray or partner with us to bring more communities into this movement of restoration.

Together, Let’s Turn on the Tap

With your help, we can break the cycle of waterborne disease, restore dignity, and unlock the dreams of entire communities. This is your chance to be part of a story where hope rises like clean water straight from the ground up.

Let’s bring water home.

We’re on a mission to end the global water crisis. We build holistic clean water solutions and spread God’s love in at-risk communities around the world, empowering people not just to survive, but to thrive – physically, socially and spiritually.
